The internet is filled full of strange and useless information. With the power of search engines, just about anything can be found on the internet, from cats jumping on trampolines, to car crashes or old ladies with pink hair riding tricycles.

One super unusual thing theChive found, was women wearing cheese dresses, posing with classic cars. They all appear to be wearing dresses constructed out of single slices of cheese, instead of hollowing out a block of cheese.

Curiosity got the best of us, and we had to figure out why women would create cheese dresses and pose in front of classic cars. We started by searching, “Girls wearing cheese dresses.” Quite a few results popped up and we started going to websites that were hosting them, and seeing what the users had to say. While most had some really cheesy comments, we were able to figure out the reason for this. The cheesy dresses are apart of a world wide scavenger hunt.

There is a website out there called GISHWES, which stands for Greatest International Scavenger Hunt The World Has Ever Seen. Straight from the What Is GISHWES? page, “GISHWHES is a 5-time Guinness World Record breaking scavenger hunt hosted by Misha Collins. Thousands of participants from more than 100 countries are placed on 15-person teams and for one week, through laughter, blood, sweat and tears, they acquire Items on a wild and jaw-dropping scavenger hunt list. The team that scavenges the most items with the highest quality of submissions joins Misha Collins on an all-expenses paid trip to an exotic locale. Prior Winners journeyed to Rome, a haunted castle in Scotland and British Columbia.”

In 2013, they had a scavenger hunt for girls wearing cheese dresses standing in front of classic cars. The mystery of the cheesy pictures has been solved!
