When we say the word “big block,” we are instantly transported back to those carefree days of the original muscle car wars. It seemed like the only way automakers could make more horsepower was by upping the cubic inches, and the great granddaddy of all the big block V8 engines was the Chevy 454 big block. Even though the 454 has been out of production for almost two decades now, it is still widely available and an ever-popular platform for hot rodders and muscle car enthusiasts alike.
World Products, the well-known maker of cylinder heads and engine blocks, is well aware of the popularity of the 454 engine. So it should come as no surprise that World Products is offering special 454 valve covers with the red “WORLD” logo CNC machined against a black background and “454 Limited Edition” inset in white. The catch? Why these valve covers are designed for a small block Chevy.
These polished aluminum valve covers are tall enough to allow for plenty of clearance for high-performance valvetrains, and with today’s advancements in boring and stroking technology, it is not uncommon to see SBC with 454 cubic inches of displacement.
So while you may raise more than a few eyebrows adorning your small block with 454 valve covers, once the doubters hear your monster engine roar to life all those questions should be erased.
