We love us some movie cars, be it James Taylor and Dennis Wilson’s ratted-out primer gray ’55 street rod from Two Lane Black Top, or even Mark Hamill’s goofy mid-70’s bondo’ed-to-death Corvette monstrosity from Corvette Summer. There’s something about a car that was center stage in a full-length feature that really cranks our starters.
Unfortunately, we had no idea what the movie “Night Claws” was before finding this super clean ’57 Bel Air on eBay. According to IMDb, Night Claws is about a small town terrorized by a killer Sasquatch, a bloodthirsty, vicious man killer to boot.
Apparently, the murderous Bigfoot might just be a murderous were-Bigfoot. Yeah, you read that right. We’re thinking this might be the best movie ever made. Oh wait, there’s one more thing, Frank Stallone may or may not be the werebigfoot in question.
This might possibly be the best movie since Citizen Kane and Manos: Hands of Fate.
OK, back to the car: this ’57 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop has the designation as a Sport Coupe and was a Best of Show winner at a large Gulf Coast show, the very first time it was shown since its restoration.
Painted in Matador Red with red and black interior, this ’57 was originally a barn find in 1989 with only 26,318 miles on the odometer. Since then, it’s racked up less than 100 miles in over 21 years and sports all of its original body panels and all floor pans, glass, and stainless steel trim. Never any body damage. Never any rust.
Powered by the original 283 V8 and 2-speed Powerglide transmission, it’s complete with dual exhaust with modern a power brakes upgrade. Heck it even had the original trunk mat, correct T3 headlights, battery and correct jack.
