By now you’ve undeniably gotten a peak at the latest YouTube sensation- The Harlem Shake. A bit silly and overdone, you can still find fresh videos of the trend popping up on the web daily, but we’re rather partial to the ones that revolve around the automotive industry. Earlier on this year, we showed you a Harlem Shake video involving a fourth-generation Camaro, but the car theme hasn’t stopped there. In fact, our friends over at American Modern Insurance Group and the crew behind The Build also got in on the action and it may be our favorite rendition yet. Check it out above.
Every Harlem Shake video is essentially the same- a lone dancer starts off jigging to himself in a mask until the bass drops and his peers join the fun dressed in silly costumes. With that in mind, claims specialist from American Modern Insurance Group, Rick Drewry starts off The Build’s interpretation of the Harlem Shake with a jig of his own behind the mask of a welder at work to celebrate the car reaching its third-of-the-way done mark.
Although some crew members seem to get into the music a little bit more than others in the background, all seems rather tame as work commences on The Build’s 1965 Chevy Malibu SS project car. That is, until the bass drops.
In a matter of seconds, a retro spaceman, Evel Knievel look-alike, jersey-wearing bear and a variety of similarly adorned individuals join the party in the American Modern shop, extending their Harlem Shake far past the traditional 30 seconds.
We get it- the Harlem Shake may have well run its course by now for all we care, but say what you will, we can’t deny our love for car-themed videos even if they do fall into the category of a crazy YouTube sensation.
