Much of the U.S. is currently suffering under a blast of cold Arctic air, and many car guys long ago put their rides away from the winter to protect them from the elements. But what about those gearheads who live in nations where cold weather is the norm, rather than a rarity? Well for those people, snow and ice just presents another opportunity to go out and do what they love the most; drive.
With another winter comes another incredible video of the Swedish Camaro known only as “the Ice Monster”. Driven by a fearless Swede known only as Jobergg, this test and tune looks like buckets of fun…if you have the balls to race on a frozen lake.
Yup, as it turns out frozen lakes make for great race tracks. With the deep cold settling over Sweden as it does every year, these natural racetracks can easily hold the weight of a few cobbled-together race cars, including the Ice Monster Camaro. How an American Camaro found its way to Sweden, we don’t know…but it sounds absolutely fearsome, that’s for sure.
We are reminded of dirt oval track racing watching the video. Having a couple of these “Ice Monsters” racing side by side would really add to the excitement.
Judging from the interior shots, the Ice Monster lacks any sort of window defroster…or a heater at all. Instead of helmets and racing suits, these ice-racing Swedes are wearing parkas and hats. This is some straight-up post-apocalyptic racing action if you ask us, and it looks like an absolute blast.
We get it Sweden; ya’ll are badass. Well done.
