Since 1993, QA1 has been supplying rod ends, linkages, and spherical bearings to both the automotive and industrial markets, and in 1998 the acquisition of Hal Shocks began their expansion into the field of suspension dampers, which grew again in 2004 when QA1 purchased Carrera Shocks. Today, they’re a respected name in suspension components, and their 2012 SEMA show display, though packed full of interesting hardware, showed only a small cross section of their ever-expanding product line.
We got a close look at their 5th Gen Camaro suspension parts, which offer performance solutions for street, track, and dragstrip use. With so many of these cars now in the hands of their second owner, more and more late model Camaros are getting their stock suspensions upgraded, and QA1 has a full range of parts to reduce chassis flex, increase lateral grip, and help tame wheel hop on acceleration.
Per QA1 customer service manager Dave Kass, “rebound damping has a big effect on wheel hop, and in the 5th Gen Camaro, being able to separate out compression and rebound adjustments with the GD-series stock mount shocks can really help at the dragstrip.”
