By now you know the name Al Jimenez Racing. Jimenez is equated with the fastest leaf spring drag racing Camaros in the country, but just recently Jimenez took that title to a whole new level, making a record-setting pass at the NMCA West World Street Finals. But you don’t have to take our word for it. In a video just posted to Jimenez’s YouTube channel, you can experience the record-setting run for yourself in the driver’s seat of Jimenez’s 1,800+hp Camaro. Check it out above.

On the weekend of October 26th, Jimenez took to the Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California with his ‘72 Camaro for the NMCA West World Street Finals to do what he does best- take the track by storm and show off what an 1,800+hp Camaro is capable of. But this wasn’t just some repeat performance from shows earlier this year. In fact, Jimenez drove his Camaro to a new record, throwing down a 7.118-second quarter mile pass with a trap speed of 205.51mph.

So how is a record pass like this possible?

Well, thanks to a F-3 Pro Charger system matted to a QMP-built 515ci big block, Jimenez has the perfect setup to throw all 1,800+ ponies to the pavement. Backed by a leaf spring suspension system makes this the fastest car on leaf springs in the world.

Congratulations goes out to Jimenez and his crew for once again setting astounding records at an NMCA event. While the race season is coming to an end for the year, we can’t wait to see what Jimenez and his Camaro bring for the 2013 race season.
