You’d expect to see spiffy new wheels on a brand new Camaro or Corvette, but what about classic Chevys? With Forgeline wheels, absolutely! The forged aluminum wheel company offers something for everyone and more importantly, every Chevy imaginable, including this 1957 Bel Air. But don’t discount this classic gem as just any old car with new wheels. As we found out from Forgeline themselves, this Chevy is far from run of the mill.
The classic Tri-Five is an icon in automotive culture, and for good reason. Its bold lines, sleek style and that ever popular Chevy bowtie never seem to go out of style, whether you’re a factory correct or modified hot rod kind of guy. And this 1957 model is no different.
Built by Rods & Restos in Centre, Alabama, this Tri Five started out as a low-mile classic complete with original paint and was transformed into an amazing work of metal art.
Sitting atop an Ironworks chassis, the Bel Air features an LS9 and TKO600 transmission and huge ceramic carbon brakes right off of a Corvette ZR1. To compliment the car’s new pro-touring style, Rods & Restos opted for Forgeline’s 19-inch DS3P wheels with brushed outers and titanium centers in the front and 20-inch DS3Ps in the back.
Forgeline’s DS3P wheels offer a classic five-spoke design with a twist, featuring modern split spokes and a combination of exposed and hidden stainless steel hardware. Just like all Forgeline wheels, the DS3Ps are made of premium 6061-T6 forged aluminum, come in sizes 18-inch, 19-inch, 20-inch and 22-inch, and can be had in a variety of finishes. Originally designed as a flat-lip wheel, the DS3P line can also be built with a stepped-lip design to flatter any Chevy or other vehicle manufacturer and can even be fit with custom backspacing options for big-brake compatibility.
Whether you’re driving a modern or a classic Chevy, Forgeline wheels are the perfect finishing touch for any project. To see more on the DS3P wheels or any other style Forgeline offers, be sure to visit their website at www.forgeline.com.
