We talk about being one with our cars all the time, but what if your Chevy was more than just a weekend vehicle, daily driver or prized show car? What if it was the means by which you are able to do your job to the fullest and stay safe? Well, that’s exactly what Chevrolet vehicles are to the Rock Hill Police Department in South Carolina. Check out how the department relies on the Chevy Tahoe PPV in the video above and the Impala and Caprice PPVs in the videos below.
The three short videos you see here were filmed as part of the GM Fleet and Commercial “Stories from the Road” series that showcases how people rely on their Chevys to get some tough jobs done. For the Rock Hill Police Department, that tough job is protecting and serving a community with over 66,000 people in it.
In the first video, the Tahoe serves many purposes, from police “office” to lookout tower on the road. Surprisingly, the Tahoe handles anything the police department throws at it with impressive handling and ruggedness to get them through even the stickiest situations.
The Impala and Caprice PPV, although smaller than the Tahoe, also serve the police force well, even being referred to as a “knight’s horse” by one officer. Steady, trusty and quick, we can see the resemblance.
A police officer in this final video refers to his Chevy PPV as a “tank.” Every day, these cars go into a battle of a sense and must be able to withstand the heat that could come their way. Whether you’re a classic car owner, a racecar driver or a police officer on the streets of Rock Hill, you rely on your vehicle. And it’s nice to see in every walk of life, there’s a Chevy to get the job done.
