Who would have guessed the popularity of Chevy’s most popular work vehicle would change from utilitarian to threatening street demon. If you haven’t guessed it already, Chevy’s most venerable pickup, with the right upgrades, can really catch you off guard as the video above so eloquently proves.
Beginning with a regular cab, Chevy short-bed stepside truck, this owner did what most would do and began with some simple upgrades to set his ride apart. Utilizing some smoke lenses for the headlights and taillights, its stealthy appearance is obvious.
Then, the truck enthusiast had the factory wheels powerdercoated black to further its stealthiness. For more appearance modifications, a cowl hood was installed and a ghost flames were added as well. Out back the factory bumper was removed and replaced with a slick rear roll pan.
Then, the real work began. Camshaft upgrades have always been the upgrade of choice when it comes to really adding some reliable horsepower to any street mill. That said, a large lift and high duration camshaft was installed for added breathing while a set of long tube headers was also installed to help expel fumes. As the video illustrates, this somewhat under assuming truck turns into a real beast as soon as the ignition is ignited. Turn up your speakers, however, beware…this bad little truck roars!
