When you’ve got something to sell, no one can blame you for taking advantage of a perfect opportunity to market your product. As we found out from Torque News, that’s exactly what Chevrolet did over the weekend, taking full advantage of St. Patrick’s Day to showcase some of their “Green” products. Check out just how creative the Detroit giant got.
Of the three green products listed in the latest GM News release is the Hot Wheels Camaro Concept. We first brought you news of this incredible child’s play thing turned grown man’s drivable toy through our 2011 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show coverage. Painted in a custom Spectraflame Green to match the original ‘68 Custom Camaro Hot Wheels car, the Camaro concept continues to make people green with envy.
Though the car has been tucked away since its SEMA Show debut, the car will get its second run in the spotlight when it hit’s the show floor at the 2012 New York International Auto Show next month.
Another green product Chevy boasted about over St. Patrick’s Day is the new mini car set to hit dealerships this summer called the Spark. While we’ve seen many car manufactures attempt to popularize a mini car model, Chevy hopes the Spark can change the perception of what affordable mini cars look like with various fun color options, like Salsa, Lemonade, Techno Pink and even Jalapeño green.
Chevrolet also offers green products that don’t have to do with color. With their line of fuel-efficient cars, they save drivers “green” at the pump. The Malibu Eco, Sonic, Cruze, and Cruze Eco all offer estimated fuel economy of 37mpg or more. Additionally, the Volt electric car gives drivers a range of 379 miles of travel on.
It might seem strange to associate the color green with Chevrolet, but the company does offer some pretty cool “green” products. We just can’t wait to see the Hot Wheels Camaro Concept again soon.
