The automotive hobby world is a big place, with specialists and shops catering to each individual niche. No matter what kind of cars you perfer, there’s a shop or show tailored just for your taste in automobiles. This includes donks, low-riders, and other cars made famous by hip-hop artists and Original Gangsters alike.
We usually put these kinds of big-wheeled vehicles in the “show car” catagory, but as this next video shows a set of oversized rims cannot discourage a procharged ‘87 Chevy sedan from marching down the drag strip.
This video comes to us from the 2011 Dragfest Toyz Show down in Georgia, which was held this past August. The show welcomes all sorts of “hip-hop” rides, with the top award going to the “#1 Stunna.”
Most of the cars that show up aren’t cut out for any sort of racing, as the owners go for prestige over horsepower. But the “Kut Da Check” ‘87 Chevy Sedan don’t roll like that. With a ProCharger under the hood, nitrous oxide to boost the power, and riding on 26-inch rims, “Kut Da Check” isn’t afraid of no drag strip.
Hooking up those low-profile tires isn’t easy, but eventually it does happen, and the boxy old Chevy takes off down the drag strip, big hoops and all. Bet you didn’t wake up expecting to see that today, did you?
