If you’ve always wanted to get a Transformers Edition Camaro, you need to act fast. As we found out from Camaro5, the limited run of the Dark of the Moon– inspired ‘12 Transformers Edition is just about up. Since we haven’t seen any more Transformers movies advertised, this may be the last chance you have at owning one of these iconic movie car replicas.
The ‘12 Transformers Edition Camaro comes in the 2LT and 2SS coupe models with the RS appearance package. To make the Camaro look like Bumblebee, the car is decked out in Rally Yellow exterior paint with Transformers Black rally stripes, a high wing spoiler, black side grill decal stripes, and Autobot emblems on the front quarters and in the center of the gloss black special edition wheels. The interior matches the outside of the car with yellow stitching throughout the black interior. The Transformers Edition Camaro also features Autobot emblems on the console and head rests, carbon flash instrument panel and door inserts, and a special Transformers edition sill plate decal.
The ‘12 Transformers Edition is available with either a 3.6L V6 or a 6.2L V8. Either way, the appearance package will run you about $3,000 on top of the price of the car. If you want your car to look even more like Bumblebee, you can also order black ground effects for an additional $2,500 installed, or black 21-inch wheels in place of the 20-inch ones for an additional $5,280 installed.
Orders for the ‘12 Transformers Edition Camaro will be taken through January 5, 2012. Ordering for the iconic car started only 7 months ago and has produced some 1,200 special edition cars. That makes the limited run of the ‘12 Transformers Edition Camaros the shortest of the two movie-inspired vehicle productions.
Whether you’ve been debating on getting one or just waiting until the last minute to get your ‘12 Transformers Edition Camaro, time is running out. In just three weeks, you won’t be able to order the special edition car. So order your car now or you might be stuck with a Transformers Xbox 360 instead.
