The 2019 Camaro Has Been Spotted Out In The Wild

When GM revealed the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Camaro to the world, there were some mixed reactions to say the least. Camaro fans both old and new had seemingly lost their minds at first glance of the sixth-generation pony car facelift, with some even claiming they would rather have a Brand X vehicle over the new Camaro.

Blasphemy? Perhaps, but maybe they make a point? Until today, we only had press release images to go off of when it came to evaluating the Camaro’s new mug – and a few shot under harsh auto show lighting. Now, we have the pleasure of viewing the 2019 Camaro SS in 360 degrees thanks to a user via YouTube who captured a video of a test mule straight from Detroit, Michigan, out in the wild.

Gaze upon the all-new Camaro. Let its new exterior design sink in, and you start to realize that the changes made to the 2019 aren’t all that dramatic. Sure, the Camaro has a new mug and a new rear-end to match, but under its new mask and caboose, it still remains a sixth-generation Camaro. It’s still powered by that same 455 horsepower 6.2-liter LT1 V8, but now features the venerable 10L80E ten-speed automatic transmission.

If you ask us, the taillights don’t look nearly as bad as we initially expected. In fact, in their smoked-lens iteration, they are downright good looking. For once, press photos seem to have actually done the car a disservice, as did the blue hue it was smothered in. The grey seen here does the car all sorts of favors.

As noted in the video above, the interior looks to remain the same as the 2016-2018 Camaro, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. After viewing this video, we want to know your opinion. What are your thoughts on the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro’s exterior? Do you think GM hit a home-run, or do the Detroit engineers need to go back to the drawing board?
