Throwback Thursday: Upgrading a Muscle Car Dash With Classic Dash

The week is going fast, and Thursday is here once again. That means it’s time for us to celebrate another editorial throwback. Each week we jump into the way back machine and open the vault that houses our vast collection of articles. In this Throwback Thursday, we’re taking a step back in time to bring you an article that you guys might have either forgotten about, or might not even know exists. Whichever the case, we are certain that you will enjoy this editorial flashback. That’s why we are taking a look back at an article talking about upgrading the dash of a classic muscle car – in this case, A Classic Upgrade To A Vintage Nova Dash.

Some cutting is required.

If you are the type of enthusiast that enjoys modifying your classic ride, there are four basic areas that you will typically consider upgrading for better performance and/or aesthetics: engine, suspension, paint, and interior. Interior upgrades usually include aftermarket seats, a new shifter — definitely a sound system, and possibly, a set of aftermarket gauges.

The original article takes a dive into installing a Classic Dash gauge cluster in a 1964 Nova (PN 140-62-00001). The Classic Dash instrument panel is offered in a matte black, brushed aluminum, or carbon fiber finish. The kit will replace the stock gauge panel, which allows the car owner to install a speedometer, tachometer, and fuel gauge.

A great upgrade with a day’s time invested.

One thing the article dos, is to help you get over any trepidation you might have about wiring and connecting the Auto Meter gauges to the factory wiring. As we show you, Classic Dash eliminates that concern by supplying a dash-to-car wiring harness that makes this kit easy to install. The wiring harness sent with the kit is very complete, color coded, and includes a very thorough and simple-to-understand instruction manual.

There is a lot more to the story, and because of that, I thought it a great piece for this week’s Throwback Thursday flashback. So, find out how Classic Dash can help your hot rod when you check out A Classic Upgrade To A Vintage Nova Dash.
