Gauges are probably one of the most noticeable ways to change up the interior of your muscle car, as well as one of the easiest. Dakota Digital now has applications in the HDX line that will bring modern functionality and features to your classic hot rod, with traditional good looks.

“The HDX-series is really our top of the line. They have all the modern bells and whistles,” says Dakota Digital’s Scott Johnson. One of the biggest features, is that they have RGB lighting so you can configure them to match a paint color, an interior color, an accent color. You can make the backlighting match that. It’s the same thing with the needles and the digital readouts.”

More than just a dizzying array of color combination possibilities, the HDX line of gauges are fully configurable for their function, as well.

“You configure the content and color of everything in the gauges. If you want boost or outside air temp, that’s all up to you,” Johnson says. “You can change the configurations through the capacitive touch push button switches on the gauges themselves, but the easiest way is through our app. With a Bluetooth link, you can take full control of the gauge cluster. You can view real-time gauge readings, make configuration and calibrations changes, and see raw sensor data.”

Another really cool, modern touch is that Dakota Digital also has a line of TPMS sensors that interface with the gauges. When programmed, they will display the actual pressure of each tire in real time. “The OEMs are doing that on new cars, so it just makes sense to roll that into the aftermarket,” Johnson says. For those of you with aftermarket EFI systems, Dakota Digital has worked with EFI companies to interface with the systems so that the gauges are a plug-and-play affair, without having to wire in new sensors.
