Wolfgang Fierek, a German actor, singer, and interesting character, is working with Rick's Hot Rods on a tank for his 1953 Chevy project car.
Our friends at Rick’s Hot Rods in El Paso, Texas, tell us that they have worked with customers all over the world, “Our tanks can be found on fine automobiles in over 14 countries, you might say that the sun never sets on Rick’s Tanks,” they reported.
The latest request for help with a custom tank from Rick’s came from German actor, singer, and talk-show host, Wolfgang Fierek. Fierek is working with Rick’s on his ’53 Chevy.
We know about Rick’s Hot Rods, a global leader in Aluminum, and Stainless Steel Fuel Tanks, and In-tank fuel Pump Systems, but we were not as familiar with Rick’s world-wide customers, so we wanted to take a look at Wolfgang Fierek and try to get a peek at his project car.

Far out indeed. Now we understand why techno-rock is so popular in Europe.
Wolfie’s website is mostly in German, so we couldn’t read all the details, but there were enough photo galleries for us to fully understand that Fierek was a car and motorcycle guy.
We went ahead and translated Fierek’s Biography so that we could better understand what led a German actor/singer to Rick’s Hot Rods. As it turns out, our new friend Wolfgang was indeed a true car guy. The first line of his bio indicated that he “completed an apprenticeship as a mechanic. Prior to joining the army in 1970, he worked as a truck driver.”

The more we read about Fierek, the more we understood about his desire to work with our friends at Rick’s Hot Rods.

According to his bio: Wolfgang “Chopper King” Fierek, who is an avid motorcycle rider was on 24 April 2003 involved in a no fault accident in which he was seriously injured. His experience after this tragic accident, Wolfgang Fierek, wrote the book “The Harley at the gates of heaven.”
Unfortunately, we could not find photos of the 1953 Chevy but we did run across several other photos of Fierek’s rides. We will continue to check with our friends at Rick’s Hot Rods to see how this project ends up and what the ’53 looks like.
