Sometimes, escaping the oppressive rules of society really just means changing one set of rules for another. If you think that there’s no rules in a motorcycle gang, try wearing pink underwear outside your leathers, or carrying a Shrek lunch bag on your hog. There are lots of cases where we break rules without lapsing into anarchy and, when it is creatively done, there can be positive things that come out of it.
With that and without judgment, we present the ‘Luminado’ – a one-of-a-kind, project car based on a 1995 Chevrolet Lumina. The car was offered up on eBay recently, but in spite of 17 bids, the reserve was not achieved. According to the owner, after adding the 1958 Cadillac Eldorado fins and rear bumper, he fabricated the trunk lid to match the revised sheet metal. It appears that the balance of the car remains stock.
The overall effect might be something that George Jetson would have driven or flown to work. Certainly, a lot of work has gone into this project and getting it finished to the point it can be driven and shown. Those with many unfinished projects in their garage need not comment.
Doubtless, this chimera is a head-turner wherever it goes, which the owner confirms with a story of his own in the auction listing. OK, so this particular combination isn’t for everyone, but that probably depends on your level of insecurity. After all, if you’d wear a pair of Ronald McDonald shoes to a business meeting, you can certainly appreciate the potential behind this car. Who knows? The aerodynamics might even be significantly better!
