The crew at Hot Wheels is more than just about designing children’s toys, which can be seen through the company’s teamwork to create the just released Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels Edition car we saw at SEMA this year. But while the production market gets their own grown-up version of a Hot Wheels toy, four teams- Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow- continue to battle it out in the stunts department, aiming for more world records and the ultimate team title. In their latest stunt, Team Green turned to a Chevy classic to elongate their corkscrew jump record. Check it out in the video above.
Hot Wheels is known for some pretty killer cars, whether they be toy box size or garage size. But one thing remains true for all the vehicles that Hot Wheels produces- they’re big, mean, and a lot of times, crazy. The El Camino used in the latest stunt from Team Green is no different.
Equipped with over-roof air scoops, a police-like bumper guard, and most noticeably, a pair of giant jets sitting in the utility vehicle’s bed, this El Camino is something only Hot Wheels (or a Hollywood Film) could think up. The best part is that it’s used to push Team Green’s stunt buggy to a even better world record at the hands of non other than professional race car driver Mario Andretti.
While the jump record isn’t revealed in the video, we are let in on a secret-that Team Green is just getting started in their world record breaking efforts. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until 2013 to see what they come up with next.
