Official Release:
Renowned as the go-to clutch manufacturer for Detroit Three V-8 vehicles, Centerforce recently released a new system for classic Chevy/GMC muscle. This fresh Centerforce II kit (P/N KCFT713916) fits the 1966-1969 Corvette 427ci/7.0L; the 400ci/6.6L 1970 El Camino, Monte Carlo, Chevelle, Malibu and Malibu SS; and the 1971 GMC Caballero and Sprint with the 400ci/6.6L V-8.
Street-friendly, the Centerforce II system comes complete and uses patented technologies to increase holding power while providing light pedal feel. The signature Centerforce centrifugal weight system increases holding capacity as RPM rises. Patented ball-bearing pressure plates require less pedal effort for engagement. For improved bite, the Centerforce II clutch disc uses premium organic friction material. Full friction facings on both sides maximize clutch longevity. The disc also has a sprung hub design for progressive engagement and chatter-free performance.
The Centerforce II kit for early Chevy 400/427ci engines comes ready-to-install with pressure plate, clutch disc, throw-out bearing, alignment tool, pilot bearing and pressure plate bolts. Centerforce II components are available individually, and Centerforce also offers a la carte pressure plates and clutch discs in its other clutch series: Centerforce I, Dual Friction, DFX and LMC.
