Classic Performance Products (CPP)has improved its spindle and hub assembly line for classic cars, which helps enthusiasts upgrade and increase the braking capacity for several automotive applications. The new spindle and hub is designed for easier use. It is a better fit than anything else out there, and gives you Corvette brakes on a non-Corvette application.
We spoke with Danny Nix of CPP, who filled us in on what’s new with the spindle/hub assembly, and what makes this product such an effective choice for upgrading. The C7 hub that the company uses, has a larger outer bearing than the C5 and C6 hubs that many use. It also lacks the external wire for the speed sensor. The speed sensor instead is internal, allowing for a cleaner look.
Their new C7 spindle/hub fits a wide variety of vehicles, but each one is specific, rather than trying to make a one-size fits all solution. “It’s not like we made one and modified the taper or throw in a different steering arm¸” Danny explained, “They are actually made specifically for every vehicle.”
Danny also explained that one of the big differences between their new C7 spindle/hub and what most other folks offer is the design itself. The CPP units are all a once-piece design, and allow for the clearance required when using the larger outer bearing. This one-piece design lets the builder take full advantage of the C7’s hub design.
