Rare muscle cars aren’t restricted to early generations. In fact, with today’s technology, more and more special edition cars are possible. If you’d like to own a newer rare muscle car, you could be in luck at the upcoming Daytime Auction put on by Mecum Auctions. One of the cars being offered at this event is a Hendrick’s Motorsports 25th Anniversary Camaro. This car, number two of the only 25 made is sure to make its new owner one happy camper in more than one way.
To celebrate their 25th anniversary, Hendrick’s Motorsports’ owner, NASCAR great Rick Hendrick decided to build 25 special edition Camaros. With the help of Callaway Cars, the 2010 Camaros were transformed. Now, don’t go thinking that these Anniversary Camaros are merely stock cars with a different paint job. Just like his business, Hendrick wanted these cars to make a statement.
The Anniversary Camaro set to be auctioned off, just like the rest of the Anniversary Camaros, has a TVS supercharger matted to the LS3 engine. This creates 582hp. The Camaro also has a six-speed manual transmission with short-throw shifter, Brembo brakes and Eibach suspension. Exterior upgrades to the Camaro includes a carbon fiber spoiler, rocker panels and hood inserts. It also has a ZR1-style hood and custom 20-inch wheels.
This Camaro is truly a rare collector car. To add to its value, both Rick Hendrick and Reeves Callaway signed this Camaro’s carbon fiber engine cover.
If you’re interested in owning this rare muscle car, you can bid on it at the Daytime Auction in Monterey, California on Friday August 19th. It is set to cross the auction block at 1:50p.m. We look forward to seeing how much this Camaro goes for and who the new owner will be.
