Our burnout video of today comes to us from Alex Sherman of Richmond, California. He and his subtly painted, 396 powered Camaro aren’t garnishing a ton of attention. That is, until Sherman hammer’s down and begins dancing the Camaro in an open parking lot with nothing but open real estate at his fingertips. For power, Sherman is currently relying on 396 cubic-inches, utilizing a forged crank and pistons. At the heart sits a “Voodoo” camshaft from Lunati, which opens the port and polished cylinder heads on top.
To aid in atomizing the air and fuel, Sherman uses a Torker intake manifold from Edelbrock, topped with a Holley Double Pumper carb. Getting all those spent gases out, a set of Holley Comp headers with 2.5-inch piping and Magnaflow mufflers is used.
The hard twisting big-block chases a T56 6-speed with hopped up internals from a ’97 Z28. The whole thing turns a 12-bolt rearend with a set of freeway-friendly 3.73:1 gears.
Sherman says he’s honored to be part of our burnout wall of fame, but does not yet have quarter mile or other track times to report as he’s just recently finished the car. If this Camaro is a recent build, then this is one serious way to break it in.
Even if we don’t know all the specifics of Alex Sherman’s circle-spinning Camaro, we know of the ruggedness of his drifting skills. As soon as he does get track times recorded, we hope that he’ll share those with the YouTube community as well.
