Without a doubt, mud trucks are cool. It’s not everyday you can see a truck planted on legit tractor tires. They sound like top-fuel dragsters, look like tractors and move across the mud like a boat. It’s surreal to say the least. After all, most are home-built after the day job is through and scrapped together with spare parts. Got to respect that. With some cold beers and some friends, nearly any mechanically-minded enthusiast can build a mud-swallowing truck. In this sub-culture, the dirtier the better.
These muddy events are occurring all over the east and south and Daniel “Air” Mundy is our newest hero when it comes to dominating the mud in his ’69 Chevy truck. Tough would be a considerable understatement. Mundy’s truck is no slouch either. With an all-tube chassis and Big Shock coilovers, “Air Mundy” jumps and lands well enough; making a true monster truck jealous. Yeah, soaking up 7-story leaps is easy business behind the wheel of this rig.
For power, a venerable small-block Chevy spins all four, 14.9/24 BKT tractor tires. Of course, none of this would matter if it weren’t for Mundy’s ability to wheel, fly and land in the mud like a pro. Need more proof? Just check out the video’s we’ve discovered through Busted Knuckle films. This truck is absolutely nuts!
