Video: ’57 Chevy Sports One-Piece Fiberglass Body And Twin Turbos

We all know how itchy and difficult fiberglass can be even though the outcome is completely worth it. By looking at this one-piece fiberglass masterpiece, it was definitely worth it. In the video above from one of our faves, ScottieDTV, this one of a kind 1957 Chevy 150 styling has given new thoughts to being unique. With it’s forced-induction, custom touches, and modern aerodynamic lines that make your eyes follow it all the way from the sleek hood all the way back to the smooth, flawless fins. This could be one of the top contenders for “ultimate hot rod”

At first glance, this Tri-Five looks a bit different. Then you realize that there’s a lot of fiberglass work and it all comes together.

Eric Brockmeyer, of Brockmeyer Designs, took this wild custom out of his head and displayed it on his drawing board, which was then turned over to fabricator Jim Bryant, at Bryant Boat Company in Sweetwater, Tennessee. This is a one-off, hand-formed fiberglass body with functional hood and door pieces. The body is finished off in a clean black-and-white scheme, with staggered Billet Specialties 18-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels covering the drilled-and-slotted 14-inch Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners, which gives it that wicked ‘wanna race? stance. It’s enough to make you think twice of tangling with this beast.

Twin turbos stuffed under the hood and wrapped up to keep the heat down. And lots of AN fittings, too.

If they are going to have a hand-formed body, there is no way they are going to slack on the heart of this creation. The heart beats as an Eagle Racing aluminum Brodix 540 cubic inch monster. Her lungs are helped out by twin Precision turbochargers and a reverse-positioned 90-degree throttle body, as you can see growing through the hood. The fuel supply is handled by the Aeromotive dual fuel pumps, with one-off exhausts that exit through the sides of the car in front of the rear tire openings.

If you listen closely, you can hear the deep throaty sound the exhaust gives out which makes your body shake along with it. The transmission is a Lenco CS1 magnesium four-speed transmission with a Ram Pro-Billet clutch. To get all that power to the ground, the rear wheels are attached to a 9-inch Strange Lenco-Locker differential.

Even though you think this is a near all-racing vehicle, the interior speaks nothing but comfort in the posh Paul Atkins custom work, complete with bucket seats, a full set of gauges, and a console with Lenco-type shifters. All of this awesomeness sits very discretely on a Art Morrison chassis.
