Here at powerTV we’re big fans of project cars. They allow us to get our hands dirty and flex our gear-head muscles. We aren’t the only ones who likes project cars, though. Over at Pro-Touring.com, project cars are as prevalent as types of automobiles this summer. The latest one that caught our eye is a ‘67 Nova being built by the Roadster Shop. With all the updates on the forum, you can follow along with the expansive build.
The build is being called Project InNOVAtor. The intention behind this build was to create a car that performed as good as it looked and viceversa, according to the Roadster Shop’s forum posts. Unfortunately, the car was not very solid and came back from media blasting with many holes in the body.
This made room for the Roadster Shop come up with creative ideas to make the Nova unique. The Roadster Shop is putting the original body on one of their Fast Track chassis systems with a custom three-link system and main rails, making a side exhaust possible.
New floors have been put on the car as well as custom wheel tubs. The wheel base was altered and the rear wheels moved back 1.5 inches in order for the preferred stance of the car to be created. According to the Roadster Shop’s latest post on June 20th, Project Innovator will have 20 by 12 inch wheels in the rear, making the custom tubs necessary.
Pictures accompany most of the Roadster Shop’s posts. In fact, most components are pictured numerous times from different angles to shop the full extent of the build. So far, the car looks like a beast and it’s not even close to being finished. We’re excited to see more Project Innovator updates and look forward to the completion of this truly one-of-a-kind Nova.
