Speedtech To Wow the SEMA Crowd With This Chevy C10

prod_ssh_928_1559 (1)If you’ve ever been to the SEMA show in Las Vegas, you know that for a manufacturer, having a car in your booth is a huge deal. What better way for prospective buyers to see your products, than actually seeing them installed on a car—or in the case of Speedtech Performance, a C10 pickup truck.

According to Ben Meissner of Speedtech, “we’ve been hankerin’ for a hauler for some time now, we needed a good excuse to develop some new suspension parts for the ’67–’72 Chevy C10 crowd. Well this little p’up wandered into the shop lookin’ like it had a pretty tough life. It’s got quite a history, we’d tell you about it, but we really don’t know what it is. Needless to say, there wasn’t one matching color panel, it was missing half its parts, and it had rust all over.”

Getting started on one project means that you have to finish another, so while the guys worked on other company stuff, the C10 waited patiently in the corner of the shop. Now with a game plan developed, the project is under way. Instead of simply adapting their tried-and-true suspension components to the truck’s beat up frame, they decided to start fresh with what they are calling the most killer chassis and suspension on the market today, Speedtech’s new ExtReme suspension program.

Just like their ExtReme Camaro and Nova subframes, and the Chevelle and Tri-Five full frames, these new frames for the C10 offer a lowered stance, and fully-optimized suspension geometry that is based around their ATS spindle. For you guys that like to have the latest and greatest, they have developed a Torque Arm-based three-link suspension out back.

The way this build is shaping up, we can’t wait to get to this year’s SEMA show to see the finished product. Be sure to check it out now at the Speedtech Performance website, and when it’s finished.
