Our friends at Ridetech are really putting their 48 hour Camaro to the test! The ’67 Camaro that was completed on May 19th received a complete transformation from a mostly stock restoration to a complete 600 horsepower track and show car. Now the Camaro is touring the east coast and Midwest and will be at each stop at the Hot Rod Power Tour.
Ridetech is giving fans a unique look into the Power Tour as they can log on to the company’s Facebook page and follow the 48 hour Camaro as contributor Matt Graves is driving the 48 hour Camaro to and from each stop. Matt will be submitting photos and updates from his journeys with the Camaro. The quickly built Camaro has already stood up to the intense heat that southern Georgia can produce during the summer. Matt updated how the car was performing after the second stop of the Power Tour:
“This has to be the hottest Power Tour I have ever been on. This is also the first time I have had A/C on the Tour. Now I am spoiled. The Vintage Air A/C system in the 48HourCamaro is a total life saver. Temps climbed into the three digits in South GA. I even drag raced the car with the A/C on! This car is a tank. Nothing can stop it, but I was going to see how far we could take it. So we blew through the Spanish moss laden roads of North Florida and South GA to arrive at South Georgia Motorsports Park. It was the most unbearable, sweat drenching heat I have ever experienced in my life.”
Matt continued in his update, “So did the drag racing hurt the car? Nope. I had the air on and the windows up the entire time I was on the drag strip. I even did a photo shoot…and just stayed in the car with the A/C on. In fact, I decided that I’m not getting out of the car anymore except for BBQ.” If you are going to be attending any of the Power Tour, make sure you stop by and talk to Matt and glance at all the updates they did during the impressive 48 hour build.
