Ridetech Takes Goodguys 21st Heartland Nationals AutoCross by Storm

It’s one thing to manufacture quality parts but it’s a completely different thing to manufacture parts that are track-proven. Not surprisingly, Ridetech has done both since its beginning and continues to do so through the 2012 race season, taking the Des Moines Goodguys AutoCross at the 21st Heartland Nationals by storm just last weekend with the 48 Hour Camaro. But that’s not where Ridetech’s success ended. In fact, Ridetech-equipped vehicles dominated in every single class at the event, once again proving Ridetech quality through results.

Just last month, head engineer at Ridetech, Brit Marolf, finished second overall at the Optima Faceoff at Road America with the 24 Hour Camaro, taking first place in the autocross competition. Last weekend, that winning streak continued as Marolf piloted the 48 Hour Camaro to its Professional Class victory at the Des Moines Goodguys AutoCross competition.

Marolf completed the course in 47.824 seconds with second-place Rob MacGregor and his 1969 Chevy C-10 completing the course in 48.249 seconds. MacGregor’s truck is also equipped with Ridetech components.

The Ridetech 48 Hour Camaro and MacGregor’s truck weren’t the only vehicles that competed and placed well at the autocross competition that were equipped with Ridetech components. So too were Pro Class fourth-place finisher Jimi Day’s 1969 AMC AMX and fifth-place finisher Donny Freise’s 1932 Ford Roadster. Street Machine Class second-place finisher Randy Johnson was also running Ridetech components on his 1970 Camaro, as were Truck Class winner Brad Coomer on his 1970 C-10, Truck Class third-place finisher Jason Brady on his 1970 C-10, and Streetrod Class winner Justin Dermody on his 1946 Ford Roadster.

Super Sunday’s autocross competition proved to be no different with Ridetech once again taking the top position, this time with Marolf driving the company’s 2010 Camaro to victory. Marolf completed the course win 51.575 seconds with the fifth-gen, almost a full second faster than second place finisher Chris Hay in his 2010 Camaro.

If there was ever any doubt that Ridetech components could perform on the autocross course, the company shattered that doubt at the 21st Heartland Nationals. Congratulations goes out to Ridetech and all their customers who finished in the top of their classes at the Des Moines event.
