Stiffening up a chassis remains the work of the aftermarket; OE manufacturers have only supplied what’s necessary for day-to-day use in passenger car applications, and if an enthusiast wants to do anything more difficult than make a hard turn, the race is on to tune up the suspension and build a better mousetrap. The 1964-72 GM A-Body is a favorite of enthusiasts, especially those that like to push the cars hard in the corners, and Speed Tech Performance USA has built that better mousetrap.
Official Release:
We’re proud to announce that we have a new product that works the twisties out of your system, introducing our ’68-72 Chevelle/ A body frame brace kit!
A body frames are incredibly flimsy by nature. We all know a good suspension helps a car corner better, but stiffening up the chassis is part of the program that all too often gets overlooked. Now we can help you maximize your handling efforts with the first of our new line of chassis brace kits. This kit includes laser cut plates for frame rail boxing, a system of bracing bars that ties the body, rear lower control arms, and frame rails together, and it incorporates the fully adjustable and easily removable trans cross member we use on our Pro Touring subframe. It tucks up nicely within the frame rails and there’s plenty of clearance for big exhaust. When it’s all installed it adds a significant frame stiffness increase.
Package includes laser cut frame boxing plates, laser cut brackets, pre bent tubing, and all necessary hardware.
Features:
- Ties frame rails to each other and into the rear lower control arms.
- Ties frame bracing into floor pan to stiffen the car as one unit.
- Includes our exclusive fully adjustable transmission crossmember.
- Welding and assembly are required.
