When you get three custom builders together like Demented Customs, Full Throttle Kustomz and Go-Ez Customs, you have to know that something special is going to happen. Beyond this, when someone like Tim Katz of the MMA TV show Tapout is driving the project, second best just isn’t going to happen either.
So, the early Nova station wagon shown here will be undergoing a remake to be shown at this year’s SEMA Show as well as for the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational that will take place, in Pahrump, NV, immediately after the SEMA Show.
With that kind of star power behind it, lining up supporters for the project hasn’t been a big challenge. Signed on to date are GM Performance Parts with an E-Rod Crate engine and Becool for one of their aluminum radiators.
Tremec will be adding their 6-speed manual transmission to the mix, while Total Cost Involved will upgrade the chassis with their Pro-Touring front clip and Torque Arm rear Suspension.
Currie Enterprises has lined up a bullet proof rear end. comprising an F9 housing, 3.70-geared Platinum Trac differential with billet yoke and billet pinion support. Wilwood is on board to provide the binders, which will see 14-inch rotors all around, with 6-piston calipers in the front and 4-piston versions at the stern.
Seeing this grocery hauler handling the Optima Challenge might just be worth the price of admission alone. It’s going to be interesting to see what this crew puts together for a paint job, as well. Stay tuned, or you can follow the car’s progress over on Pro-Touring.com.
