Although the 2012 automotive event season has yet to start, it’s shaping up to be better than ever. As we found out from Pro-Touring.com, the American Street Car Series (ASCS) has just opened up its registration for the third annual Run to the Coast event being held in California at the El Toro Marine Base beginning of March. The event is just a couple months away and slots are already filling up.
Dedicated to producing family-friendly pro-touring events, the founders of the ASCS, Bill Howell, Brian Finch, and Yancy Johns have introduced the pro-touring world to a whole new group of events in the past couple years. With events like Run to Music City, Run to the Coast, Run Through the Hills and Run to the Shore, the ASCS promises to bring more pro-touring events to 2012 than ever, including the Run to the Alamo taking place next month.
Steeped in new traditions, the Run to the Coast event in Irvine, California will run for its third year from March 9th through the 11th. This event will take place at the old El Toro Marine Corps Air Station just like in previous years and bring a weekend full of autocrossing, cruises, a speedstop challenge, and a legitimate road course.
The Run to the Coast event is open to all makes and models, although American muscle is preferred. If you would like to participate in the Team T/A Contingency Program running through all of the ASCS events, you can sign up at the Run for the Coast to begin earning a share of this year’s contingency pay out.

An event like Run to the Coast would not be possible without its great sponsors.
