It’s no secret that Mike Appio’s Roadster Shop-equipped 1966 Chevelle Malibu is one sick ride. In fact, we were so impressed with every aspect of the build that we featured the classic Chevy right here on Chevy Hardcore back in February… but that’s not where this story ends. Appio is back, this time sharing his car’s unique “music video” and asking for your votes in the Champion Spark Plugs King of the Road contest. Check out the video above and read on to cast your vote for Appio’s vintage Malibu!
As we told you back in February, Appio’s Malibu doesn’t look that far off from stock, that is unless you pop the hood or crawl underneath. That’s because stuffed between the fender walls, the Malibu makes full use of a fully dressed, turn key 572ci power house. Supporting the power plant is a T56 6-speed transmission, Forgeline wheels, a Roadster Shop Chevelle suspension and large-diameter triangulated 4-bar rear suspension. Not a bad setup for a bona fide pro-touring machine.
Since we featured Appio’s gorgeous ride, the pair has been busy, cruising around, attending shows, carving corners and shooting this music video with his two brothers, Frank and Zach Appio. They’ve also entered into the Champion Spark Plugs King of the Road contest.
With digital pictures uploaded and specs listed, now all Appio needs is votes for his Malibu to make it into the running for the grand prize of $5,000.
We fell in love with Appio’s Chevy and we know you did too, so be sure to cast your votes every day here!
If he wins, Appio intends to take the car back to his hometown for his high school reunion and have one heck of a party with all his family and friends, the ones this project build would not have been possible without.
