The V6 5th Gen Camaros have been a tough nut to crack for many tuners due to their “exotic” ECU, and the inability to tune meant that you could forget about adding any kind of forced induction. Well, not any more. IPF Tuning has proved that the V6 Camaro’s ECU can in fact be tuned successfully, and they have teamed up with Vortech Superchargers to offer a bolt on kit that can bring out massive power from the V6.

The heart of the IPF Supercharger kit is a Vortech V-3 supercharger that draws air through a front mount intercooler, while an IPF proprietary flash tuning tool adjusts the fuel and spark accordingly. Reportedly, IPF’s magic tuning ability for the “untunable” V6 ECU that now makes forced induction possible was developed using their experience in tuning Porsches and Ferraris, which use the same style of Bosch ECU. The kit is also designed to be 100% bolt-on with no invasive modifications necessary, meaning the install is also 100% reversible if need be.

The very best part about this kit: 435 rear wheel horsepower, and 360 pound feet of torque. Let’s face it; it would take the full gamut of available bolt-ons to even get a naturally aspirated LS3 Camaro into that range, so that kind of power coming from a V6 is nothing to snort at.
