No matter what your idea of a good time is, whether it be window shopping with the family or launching your brand new Chevy Silverado off the edge of a razorback, it’s a guarantee that Lake Michigan’s Silver Lake Sand Dunes Beach Area will have just about everything for the entire family.
From beautiful shorelines to a never ending array of attractions and dining choices in town, Michigan’s Silver Lake Beach Area aims to please everyone. But while we appreciate the “tourist friendly” quality of the Silver Lake Dunes, it’s the thrill of horsepower we seek.
The Silver Lake Sand Dunes are located just west of the US-31 between Muskegon and Pentwater, Michigan. Of interest to us, however, is that fact that the Silver Lake Dunes are the only sand dunes east of Utah where you can go off-roading with your own truck or ATV of choice between April 1st and October 31st.
Being that this is the case, Holley Performance Products posted this somewhat historical video of a late-model Silverado getting airborn. The rest is history, literally. Bjorn Michaelsen and Dune TV captured one of those “uh-oh” moments, as this Silverado is seen launching into the sky and then slamming back to earth – instantly crippling the Silverado’s full-frame structure. Needless to say, it looks like all who were involved made it out OK. However, the same can’t be said for that brand new truck.
