When it comes to playing in the mud at the Centertown Mud Bog in Woodbury, Tennessee there aren’t too many rules that apply. In fact, the only thing that is really asked of all truck participants is that they run an OEM block under the hood, have a 2-inch hitch ball or hook at the rear end, depending on truck class, and that no nitrous or other power adders besides race fuel are used during the romp.
Specific requirements are placed on trucks, Jeeps or SUVs in the Centertown Mud Bog are contigent on the restrictions of classes “A-E,” with “E” being Centertown’s “Outlaw” class, in which anything goes in terms of fender and tire cutting, front and rear traction bars and full four-wheel drive setups.
In this class and the “D” class, even aluminum and other aftermarket cylinder heads are allowed to run, provided that they are still bolted on to an OEM block and are naturally aspirated.
While we’re not sure if the mud-romping pickup in our feature video is exactly an “outlaw,” it sure looks like one as it ruthlessly tears up the Woodbury mud pit. Watch this bad-ass, early K10 Chevy truck utilizing what looks like a set of inverted exhaust headers poking through the hood giving it all its got. Trust us, you’ll want to turn up your speakers for this run.
There’s no “bull” behind this mud run, except for the angry snorting sounds that the colorful pickup now trashed makes as it furiously tries to climb its way out of the muddy pit. Woodbury is without a doubt home to one of Tennessee’s greatest mud sport venues, and if you’re ever in the area and feel like getting mud-covered, then the Centertown Mud Bog is right up your alley.
