If you like your musclecars to look sinister and badass, our friends over at RK Motors Charlotte have done it once again with this radical high performance custom. Painted in Tuxedo Black and Shadow Gray, you need to check out this crazy 1970 Chevelle SS.

Updated with a modern chassis and various components, this Chevelle was the recipient of a body-off, rotisserie restoration that was completed in 2014. What was once painted Champagne Gold, the Chevelle’s new color spells out nothing but aggression.

The car’s dark aesthetics help to hide the bevy of features inside and out. The front end has a blacked-out grille, and headlights with black trim that complement painted bumpers, mirrors, and door handles.

The rear end follows suit, featuring a shaved decklid, painted bumper, and taillights with black trim. Diving under the hood, you’ll be pleased to find a 468 cubic-inch big-block V8 with a sizable Holley four-barrel carburetor. With the engine estimated to throw down 540 horsepower, this Chevelle is simply a monster.

The big engine is mated to a Tremec five-speed manual transmission for banging through gears with authority, and the suspension has been beefed up with a Hotchkis sway bar, aftermarket control arms, and lowering springs to give the car a nice stance.

Complete with power steering assistance, the Chevelle spins a 20-inch set of BOSS Motorsports wheels with 245/35ZR20 up front and 275/30R20 radial rubber.

On to the interior, we are treated to custom leather with plush bucket seats and diamond-tuck covers. The custom dash houses a series of Auto Meter gauges, and below is a traditional chrome shifter, Vintage Air climate control, power window switches, and a Kenwood touch-screen unit.
