In a case of deja vu, some of you may recognize the second-gen Camaro adorning this page. Although on the surface it may resemble a ’70-73 Rally Sport, it is in all actuality a 1978 model, complete with the wraparound rear window. Obviously a recipient of a complete body overhaul, it’s underneath the F-body that particularly interests us.

Mikko Viitala, the Camaro’s Fin owner replaced the tore old SBC with something a bit more modern in the shape of a 505hp LS3. He didn’t stop there, being intrigued by the ever-growing drifting competitions sprouting up all over the world , threw on a 21st century suspension that enables his Camaro to get sideways on the fly.

We just ran across this recent video through our friends over at Speedhunters, and watching Mikko whip this Camaro around corners that are putting late-model Nissan Skylines into the sandpits. Mikko clearly has this Camaro sorted out very well, and we enjoy the theatrics of watching a 500hp LS motor make quick work of of anything it’s put up against in Europe.

Underneath you’ll find Bilstein shocks, Corvette brakes and ironically, Nissan S14 coil-over shocks. The rollers consist of a combination of 17×8-inch AR TT2’s in the front and a undisclosed pair of 18-inch wheels out back, all of which are wrapped in Toyo rubber.
