Above all other exhaust systems offered on the performance aftermarket, Flowmaster by far offers the most throaty and distinct sound that you can buy for nearly any performance application, whether it be street or off road.
This has always been true of the performance exhaust manufacturer, and Flowmaster has made strides over the years to maintain that signature sound that we have all come to know and love from the company.
This is no less true of their current Cat-Back system for the ’86-’91 Camaro, giving the late model pony that notorious, Flowmaster growl. The Cat-Back exhaust for the third generation Camaro is Flowmaster’s part numbers 817234 and 817233, respectively.
Both systems feature an 80 Series, Cross Flow muffler with aluminized, Mandrel Bent 16GA tubing. Essentially the same as the 17228 kit that was discontinued last April, both the current 233 and 234 kits are designed for a single cat converter application, with the 233 kit featuring a 3-inch flange and the 234 kit featuring a 2 1/2-inch flange.
The system’s design gives the exhaust a moderate to aggressive, exterior tone while maintaining the driveability that you would expect from Flowmaster. The Cat-Back from Flowmaster is made specifically for the Camaro, like the third generation IROC featured in this YouTube video, but the system can also fit on Pontiac Firebirds of the same era.
Both systems from Flowmaster are 409 stainless steel, backed by a lifetime warranty and made right here in America. It’s a quality Cat-Back system that you can trust from a known name in performance exhaust. According to Flowmaster’s Ronnie Olson and Alex Ortega, the Cat-Backs are also within reach, as the suggested prices for the current 233 and 234 systems are $535.99 and $469.69, respectively.
Both systems are made to work with 5.0 and 5.7l applications; contact or visit Flowmaster for more details…
