Last year we brought you news that Classic Industries bought a ’69 Dick Harrell Camaro. Classic Industries now has a video about the Camaro so you can hear it run and complete a smoky burnout. 

Dick Harrell is a legendary drag racer that had a huge impact on the automotive world in the 1960’s. He was a die hard Chevy man, always using their products in his cars. 

This Camaro is one of only ten ever produced. By far the biggest change to this Camaro over a normal production Camaro is the large 427 cubic inch motor. In the video you can hear this beast of a motor roar to life and can tell its been worked over and ready to take another trip down the drag strip. 

Boiling the tires one last time!

We see the priceless car being unloaded from the trailer by Classic Industries CEO Jeff Leonard, and legendary baseball player Reggie Jackson. Jackson talks about the significance of the car and why its so special to not only him, but the entire automotive world.

“Classic Industries ownership wants the car preserved. They want people to know about it, what it did and what it represents” says Jackson. In the hands of Classic Industries, this car will maintain top notch care but also be able to be seen by thousands of people year round in their showroom. 

Before the car is permanently tucked away for preservation, Reggie has to do one last burnout in this car in Harrell’s honor. He lights them easily in the parking lot and does a quick but really smoky burnout for all to see. This shows that while this car might be a show car, it still has everything that made it a real Dick Harrell Camaro.
