While you don’t need a fast or even particularly powerful car to perform a smokey burnout, it sure does help. While car cultures may be staggeringly different from one country to the other though, burnouts are an almost universal language, loved by gearheads all around the world. There is just something about the smell of burning rubber that brings people together.

As awesome as we believe America to be at all things automotive though, Australia may have us beat when it comes to their dedication to the burnout. Only in Oz can you win as muhch as $50,000 for putting on the best burnout at the show, though those Aussies still love them some American muscle. Even if you think you know burnouts, you’re going to love and respect the big-block Camaro that puts on one helluva show in this next video from Scotty’s Garage.

Called the “Killer-B” as a play off of the Camaro’s starring role in the Transformers movie franchise as Bumblebee, this purpose-built burnout machine packs big-block power. The engine is a massive 632 cubic-inch monster topped with a Littlefield 6-71 supercharger reports Bangshift. This monster Camaro is owned by Steve Nogas, who has no problem hammering out some serious tire burning.

It’s all in good fun of course, though this hobby ain’t cheap. The estimated 1,800 horsepower coming out of that massive engine consumes fuel at a staggering rate, on the order of 27 or so gallons per burnout exhibition. This is dedication to the burnout on another level from what we’re used to, and our hats are off to Steve and the Aussie burnout kings who show us how its done.
