One of the first things I do when the SEMA show rolls around each year is to check out the new products. I want to know about the latest and greatest that is available for Chevy enthusiasts. This year, the show did not disappoint as you’ll see many articles highlighting a lot of the new products we found at the yearly event. But for this one article, I want to focus on a few things our friends at Speedway Motors had at the show.
C10 Gauges
Monitoring engine vitals is crucial, but sometimes, adding gauges can really deter from the look of your ride — especially if the added gauges look out of place. Luckily, these all-electric gauges are designed to give the appearance of factory units by virtue of the OE-esque display.
These add-on gauges feature LED perimeter lighting for easy viewing at night, and each set includes voltmeter, coolant temperature, and oil pressure gauges. The gauges feature a half-sweep design with full numeric callouts, and the kit includes mounting bracket, gauges, gauge mounting clamps, and sending units.
The gauges are a compact 2-1/16-inch and take up little room while still being easy to read at a glance. Since these are electric gauges, you don’t have to worry about coolant or oil lines running through your firewall either.

Side-Detent Shifter
Speedway Motors realizes that GM’s famous Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatics can be found in countless cars. But, many times those transmissions are actuated via a column shifter. That’s not what many people want, and they eventually convert their ride to a floor shift. But, finding a shifter with a clean look can be an issue.
This universal floor-mount shifter is designed for these instances and offers all the features you need to allow easy control of your GM three-speed automatic. This Side Detent Shifter works with all TH200, 250, 350, and 400 transmission models. The shifter is made from steel, so you know it will take years of abuse. It also features a robust reverse lockout system to prevent inadvertent shifter movement into reverse during spirited manual shift driving.
Positive detents provide feedback confirmation as to what gear you’re in while preventing you from over-running Second gear. Speedway even includes both a neutral safety switch and a reverse light switch that can be easily wired into the car’s stock wiring or any aftermarket wire harness solution.
The shifter has been crafted with a 7/8-inch center-to-center spacing using 3/8-16 threaded holes so you can mount any two-bolt manual shift lever of your choice (shift lever and knob not included). The provided five-foot shifter cable allows multiple routing choices to clear exhaust and vehicle crossmembers, while the included cable mounting bracket supports both side and bottom mounting locations on your transmission.
Finally, the shifter mounts solidly to your transmission tunnel with the included hardware. Simply locate the shifter assembly and drill four 5/16-inch holes to secure the shifter assembly in place. An additional 1-inch hole will need to be drilled for the shifter cable to pass through to route the shifter cable from the shifter to the transmission. The included vacuum-formed ABS plastic top cover provides a finished look to the shifter and is easily trimmed to match the contours of your transmission tunnel. Speedway Motors even includes a chrome-plated steel trim ring and a stitched black vinyl multi-panel shift boot that finishes the installation for a classic appearance.

LS Block Off Plates
If you are storing an engine for any length of time, you need to make sure it is sealed so dust and debris cannot get inside. These engine block-off plates are the perfect solution for long-term LS engine storage. They are compatible with stock and aftermarket cathedral and rectangle port cylinder heads and fit LS1, LS2, LS3, LS4, LS6, LS9, and LSA LS-based engine families (NOT compatible with LS7 engines due to raised intake port configuration).
The Speedway Motors intake cover plates are made from 3/8-inch billet aluminum and the exhaust and water pump cover plates are made from .090-inch aluminum. While gaskets or port O-rings are not included, you can easily cut custom intake gaskets for 100 percent moisture protection for pressure washing and painting duties using some intake gasket material if you so wish.

C10 Hydraulic Clutch Conversion
If you’re tired of manhandling the clutch in your ’67 through ’72 C10, check out this direct-fit hydraulic conversion kit that updates troublesome mechanical linkage. The 3/4-inch bore master cylinder works well with hydraulic release bearings/slaves and the 10-gauge powdercoated steel mounting plate provides increased rigidity to the firewall. The mounting plate is designed to provide clearance around the master cylinder for large power brake boosters. Installation does require drilling mounting holes in the firewall and clutch pedal arm.
All mounting hardware for the master cylinder and connection to the clutch pedal is included. However, the kit does not include a release bearing/slave cylinder or hydraulic fluid line/fittings.
This is not a universal hydraulic clutch kit, but a conversion kit specifically designed for 1967 through 1972 Chevy truck, Blazer, and Suburban. Whether you are planning a Muncie four-speed conversion or swapping to a modern manual transmission with a hydraulic throw-out bearing, this kit is will help you get the job done quickly and easily.
High-Performance Water Pump
Keeping your cool is essential, and these aluminum water pumps are manufactured from T6 aluminum and feature an impeller with curved vanes for maximum flow, pressure, and equal distribution to both sides of the block. It also features a unique seal assembly for leak-proof operation.
They are constructed with a 3/4-inch shaft with a 5/8-inch fan pilot snout, and ½-inch NPT holes on the passenger side (for heater hose) and top (for bypass hose).
NOTE: We are told this pump is designed for street use and is not to be run on an engine that exceeds 5,500 rpm.
