Yeah, we know what you might be thinking, “Fan shrouds? Really? Boy, that there’s some excitin’ stuff, fellers.” Well, don’t be fooled. These pieces are exactly the kind of thing the old school Tri-Five guys have been clamoring for. Since the original factory ‘Fives didn’t come equipped with shrouds from the factory, aftermarket companies made “due” with cranking out cheesy plastic units.
Unfortunately, most of these were of standard-to-poor quality and didn’t fit the application intended. Since enthusiasts were begging for ’em, Danchuk came to the rescue with a triad of beautifully stamped pieces that not only fit like a glove and look like the General popped ’em out himself, they also fit most imaginable applications.
We chatted up Danchuk’s Steve Brown who explained, “We’ve made three different fan shrouds to fit the three most common V8 applications. We have a fan shroud that’ll fit the stock V8 position, one that will fit for a V8 but using a 6-cylinder core support, which moves the radiator forward, and one that fits a V8 using a stock V8 core support but has been moved forward into the 6-cylinder position with adapting brackets.”
Moreover, since the shrouds are all 100% made in the USA using Class A tooling and thick powder coated steel, they are far better than any molded plastic or chinsy steel pieces you could find elsewhere. Steve went on to say, “We designed the shrouds to be as aesthetically pleasing as they are functional. We used a combination of shrouds from the fifties to shape the best shroud available,” and that sounds good to us.
