SEMA 2020: Dakota Digital’s RTX Line Of Gauges

Let’s face it, we all remember back in the day, how we wanted to update our vintage car’s dash but didn’t want to cut it up. Thanks to companies such as Dakota Digital, we can now bring in all of the added benefits of today’s technology without having to physically make room for it by cutting.

The Dakota Digital Retrotech Series (RTX), is the latest from Dakota Digital, focused on retaining that stock looks without sacrificing the late-model features you love. The design and layout of the new RTX line of gauges are inspired by the vehicle it is designed for, so features such as a rolling odometer help keep that vintage vibe alive. Such pains have been taken to ensure an original appearance, that at first glance, you may mistake them for factory originals. But, once you hit the switch and the LED backlighting comes on in your favorite color scheme, all doubts will be removed.

Dakota Digital's new RTX line of gauges are engineered to fit into the factory opening of the vehicle they are designed to represent. They feature easy connectivity to the gauge's control module and offer a greatly-expanded scope of information.

Whether you are building the latest, most high-tech ride, or simply looking for something to spice up the interior of your car without making permanent modifications, the Dakota Digital RTX series of gauge has you covered. Bluetooth integration, GPS technology, and RGB backlighting with a full-color TFT screen provide the technology that you want.

Every piece of information your car’s original gauges delivered is still present, in a much more reliable and accurate fashion. Highly advanced, solid-state sensors now supply all the pertinent information and are digitally adjustable to compensate for changes in driveline components or larger wheels and tires. You can also choose to utilize Global Positioning to pinpoint your speed if so desired.

The RTX gauges utilize a control module that allows for various inputs and outputs such as GPS or a shift light.

While the proprietary cables connect directly to the instrumentation and clock displays, an RTX Control Module feeds auxiliary information to the dash. The car’s existing wiring can be easily connected to the RTX Control Module for a clean, finished installation and integration into the vehicle. Thanks to the RTX module, the end-user can now utilize features such as Bluetooth connectivity for easy calibration and setup. There are also various auxiliary inputs and warning outputs so enthusiasts can easily set user-definable parameters to trigger a light or relay.

Dakota Digital’s new RTX series of gauges feature both “Day” and “Night” modes that are configurable for personal taste. There are over 30 different colors available to customize your dash’s backlight, needle, and display screen. There is also a small TFT message center that can be fully configured to display just about any piece of information needed, from the complimentary home screen layout to the user-configurable data group screens!

End-users can easily customize their dash with the RTX app, which will allow them to change the colors of the dash components, as well as optimize the display area for their particular driving style.

The TFT message center can be configured to show a broad scope of information ranging from a performance meter showing 0-60, 1/4-mile, 1/8-mile, top speed, and even the pressure within a nitrous bottle! On the other end of the spectrum, your message center could integrate various service intervals such as oil changes, or serve as a secondary gauge for items such as volts, water temperature, or oil pressure with digital accuracy.

RTX gauges feature both “Day” and ‘Night” modes which are customizable to the customer’s liking. There are over 30 different colors to choose from when personalizing your car’s dash using Dakota Digital’s new Retrotech series gauges.

Dakota Digital’s new RTX gauges are high-tech instruments built to supply all the needs of today’s automotive enthusiasts but by clever CNC work, while studying the factory-original blueprints, they have squeezed all of today’s benefits into the space of yesterday’s dash plate(s). Designed to fit into the factory-original opening, they are created to work far beyond what any of the original designers had ever envisioned. Check out Dakota Digital’s new RTX gauge series and see how your car can have a vintage vibe with a modern flair and accuracy.
