Is there anything better than a red 1970 Chevelle?

Way back in the month of October, yes, we know it’s only November, we introduced you to the 1970 Chevelle that the folks at Original Parts Group were putting together. We were happy to finally see the car at their SEMA booth, and we feel it turned out looking stellar.

A 454 cubic-inch engine with air conditioning delivers power and comfort.

David Leonard, founder and president of OPGI is a fan of all models of GM cars and trucks, but this Chevelle has a special place in his heart. According to Dave, OPGI acquired this Chevelle more than 20 years ago, and used it as a test bed for many of the reproduction parts they sell today. In 2015, the gang at OPGI decided it was time for the Chevelle to be more than a test mule, and for it to step into the spotlight and make a public statement.

You can make your interior look this good with OPGI’s help.

The car was taken to JH Restorations in Riverside, California, where it was completely disassembled, media blasted, and then reassembled and slathered in Cranberry Red. Inside is a new, reproduction black interior that makes the car look as great as it did when it was new.

A great upgrade is the addition of the Vintage Air A/C. Dave said, “It’s a killer Chevelle that looks like a stock restoration. The modernized suspension and brakes means the car can be driven to the office every day.”
