Poorboy’s Performance Engines & Machines of Sacramento, California has recently made good use of Billet Specialties’ True Trac serpentine system, which held up to the abuse of their stout, 500 horespower “Hotstreet” 383ci stroker.

Poorboy’s 383 “Hotstreet” package begins with a completely machined block 1-piece rear main seal, 4-bolt main block. First it’s align-honed and decked for accuracy. Then, it’s given a torque plate diamond-finish to assure the bores are perfect.

The 383ci stroker motor also features a 4340 forged crank with a 3.75-inch stroke. Of course, getting all of it to sync accordingly with the various array of accessories was left to Billet Specialties.

To start, the Billet Specialties’ True Trac serpentine kit features a polished PowerMaster 105 amp, 1-wire alternator. Along with this unit, the True Trac system also features a Billet aluminum, 1-piece fan and alternator pulley, a cast finish, Edelbrock reverse rotation water pump, Billet aluminum water pump with crank pulleys, and a set of polished steel, ARP 12-point fasteners. The True Trac serpentine kit is available for V8 platforms with and without air conditioning, and the kit can be ordered with either polished or black-anodized pulleys.

Along with the above mentioned accessories, Billet’s True Trac kit also features an aluminum tensioner and tensioner pulley, a Goodyear Gatorback, 6-rib serpentine belt and a detailed installation manual. Select pulleys are hard-coat anodized for higher wear applications, and True Trac kits that are ordered for power steering applications also feature a cast finish, Maval power steering pump with a Billet aluminum power steering pulley.
