If given the option between a 6- or 8-cylinder classic Camaro, we’re willing to bet that 9 out of 10 of you would opt for the bigger engine. After all, they’re more powerful, faster and more fun. While this may be true, the six-cylinder cars have their perks, and as we found in this YouTube video. As evident, these little 6-bangers can actually hold their own when it comes to laying down some rubber.
This bone-stock ‘67 Camaro is owned by Tom Evers, the same guy who we featured doing donuts in the snow in the ‘69 Camaro pace car, who got the car free for doing some work on a customer’s truck. The car is equipped with a straight-six factory engine and, well, no brakes. But with a little bit of luck and some good wood wheel chalks, the car still manages to be fun.
Although this lightly-optioned ‘Maro is without a limited-slip differential, the burnout that results is actually rather impressive, causing plenty of smoke and enough rubber to fly off the rear passenger tire to coat a patch of concrete a few feet wide. Think that other rear tire is jealous?
If you ever needed proof that a classic six-cylinder Camaro was good for something, this is it. While they’re also good for cruising around and good gas mileage, this looks like more fun.
