Earlier this month, we were thrilled to once again bring you some of the ridiculously crazy action from January’s Summernats 25 in Canberra, Australia. At that event, we marveled over Summernats local, Shane Anderson and his blown ’57. Now we’re about to take you to the Outback again, because the Web makes it possible and well…we just like really cool burnouts that create lots of smoke! Presenting then, Peter Gray and his blown First Gen.

Gray’s performance on the Springnats tarmac definitely equals Anderson’s at Canberra, and do not Gray’s vicious, round and round donuts just smack of the ’57 post that we had watched just a little while before? Like Summernats, the Valvoline Autofest’s Sprignats at the Shepparton Showgrounds in Victoria offers enthusiasts a chance to show off their stuff, and they’ve been doing this on the last week of November for 20 years.

Some of the planned events that go down at the Valvoline Autofest in Victoria include their “Go To Whoa” with parade laps around the Mount Panorama circuit. The “burnout competition” is by far the Sprignats’ spectators favorite, and with galloping like that from Pete Gray’s Camaro we can see why.

We’re always happy to see our whimsical motoring friends from the Outback push their old iron to the absolute extremes, and the Shepparton Showgrounds are more than fortunate to enjoy a rubber burning display like that in our featured video.

Let’s face it, American muscle won’t be leaving the Southern hemisphere, and as long as rodding rules in Australia then the Outback will always have plenty of tire smoke to go around!
