Who’d a thought a 80’s Grand Prix could look so hunkered down and beautiful? After you see Holley’s “G-Force One,” project car,you might not look at Pontiac’s old G-Body the same way ever again. Check out the progress on Holley’s LS Fest Facebook page as well.

They started the build by acquiring the very first ’87 Pontiac Grand Prix ever made from GM, which had it stashed in it’s private collection for decades with just 63 miles on the clock. With the help of Walden Speed Shop in California, they’re transforming it into a Pro-Touring style build with a pinch of Richard Petty/NASCAR seasoning for a little added kick.

The list of mods to this Reagan-era Pontiac coupe are impressive. The running gear includes an Art Morrison frame and custom suspension, Woodward steering system and humongous Baer disc brakes. The body’s been tubbed with subtle flared rear fenders, a tubular roll cage and the whole thing is slammed down on a set of Forgeline wheels with 265/35/ZR19 Michelin Pilot Sports in the front and P335/30/ZR20’s at the back.

Power is provided by a Thomson Automotive LS7 V8 with a LS9 supercharger and dry–sump oiling system and Holley EFI backed up by a Tremec 6-speed. The result?  777.9 hp @6200 rpm and a staggering 824.6 lb. ft. of torque on hand at a mere 4,400 rpm.

Dubbed G-Force One, it’ll not only be Holley CEO Tom Tomlinson’s personal driver, but a test bed for the all company’s latest and greatest LS parts and goodies as well. Look for it at the Holley LS Fest, September 7–9, 2012 and watch for a feature in Hot Rod Magazine.
