SEMA 2011: RideTech Handles 10-Inches With Tru Turn System

Ridetech is playing all of its card right. Their philosophy revolves around creating awesome handling packages that transform bland city drivers into all-out performance machines. What’s more, their entire line of Ridetech products are entirely bolt-on, including their recent line of coilover Ridetech triple-adjustable shocks.

This year, however, Ridetech has something completely new up its sleeves. With 15 years in the aftermarket business, its no wonder Ridetech is introducing a completely new method for turning your muscle car into an all-out hardcore cornering machine, literally.

What is it?

Ridetech’s Tru-Turn system utilizes four key components to transform your ride. First, the steering arms, which Ridetech designs, corrects bumpsteer and allows clearance for up to a 10-inch wide wheel with a 5.75-inch backspacing. Then, the tie rod assemblies integrate with your new steering arms and centerlink to provide a tru -“no fab”- bolt on steering system.

Additionally, a draglink bracket bolts onto your OEM draglink to relocate the inner tie rod end to minimize bumpsteer. Finally, a set of taller overall spindles improves the camber gain and a raised spindle pin to lower your vehicle by 2 inches. When you’re talking about slamming some bigger meats up front, size does matter and the bigger the tire, the better off. Trust us, your car will thank us.

RideTech's Tru Turn system is a complete kit and allows for the fitment of a 10-inch wide tire up front.

How does it work?

The early Camaro/Nova front ends have very poor suspension geometry…the tires lean outward around turns, the bumpsteer is bad, and there is little room to run a wide wheel because of the OEM steering arm interference with the inside of the wheel. The Tru Turn system resolves all these issues. Now, the tires lean INTO the turn, the bumpsteer is UNDER .050-inch through 5 inches of suspension travel, and you now have clearance to run up to a 10-inch wide wheel with a 275mm tire!
